It is now possible to Tweet your results to @BedsTT_Results so that everyone who visits the League's Facebook site knows the results of your match. This doesn't replace the present official match card process but allows people to know the latest divisional situation, particularly of interest as we get close to the end of the season. Thanks to Michael Fox of Church Lane Community TTC for organising this.

In a change from the last five years your author last night had an aberration. With the Elstow E team very short on players and a challenging Division Four game on the cards a silly decision was made. Fullginner would come out of his enforced retirement to fill a void. The game was to be against a strong Civil Service D team consisting of Geoff Bell and the family connection of Tim and Phil Crossley. The Elstow E team have been having a tough season this year and were looking for a good result. Click on the article title for a full report ...

Report by Simon Collier (Fullginner)

The Annual Tournament was held on Saturday 2nd Feb at the excellent St Neots TTC club. On behalf of all those participants who enjoyed a very successful competition I would like to express my thanks to John Alsop who assumed responsibility for organising the matches on the day in the absence of Paul Birch. Not only did John spend his time administering the order of play and presentations to the winners, he also played a very full day himself winning 2 singles competitions and reaching 2 doubles finals.

Well done, John and thank you for your efforts.

David Beddall

During the Olympics, Bedford Borough organised a LIVE event at Bedford International Athletics Stadium. As part of the event the League offered the opportunity to 190 children to try their hand at "Beating the Robot" and to try out table tennis on four tables that were provided jointly by the League and BIAS. The worthy winner of the "Beat the Robot" competition by just one point was Hlonie Mofokeng who won a table tennis bat and he is pictured above receiving his prize from BDTTL Chairman Paul Birch. Thanks to volunteer assistants Barbara Wright, Owen Hewitt, Ben Gardner, Simon Collier, Michael Fox, Paul Birch and John Alsop who attended over the four days.
